Okay, we're joining the masses. We're bloggers now. Does doing this make me a blogger?
Yesterday we went boating on the Palisades Reservoir with my parents, my sister Tonya, & her family. Yes, we took 8 week old Jessica. I did feel a little conspicuous carrying an infant carrier onto the boat. We planned to set up a shade/mosquito tent for Jessica on the beach because, well, I don't think they make life jackets in size 0-3 months. Well, there was no beach; the water is too high. Bringing the tent was my idea. Setting it up on a floating dock was not. Did you know that if you drop a tent pole into the water vertically it sinks really, really fast? Aha, we finally know what to get my dad for Christmas! A new shade tent! But, I'd bet money he buys himself a new one before we can. We spent most of the day setting up and then repacking the tent (because a tent minus one pole really is quite useless). Did you know a folding campchair sinks almost as fast as a tent pole? We saw it was blue just before it went down. By deduction, we figured out it was a chair. We'd still declare the trip a success. The baby didn't get sunburned or stressed out by the wind, the girls got to swim in the lake & the adults got to waterski or wakeboard just enough to be sore the next day.
Last time we went to Palisades we lost & then found a diamond wedding ring. Just one more of those testimony building experiences that God does hear and answer prayers.
