A synopsis of May 2012

Roughly half of the Mills cousins

Sondra & LaMar's 50th Wedding Anniversary

May included a 50th Wedding Celebration for Rich's parents in Richfield. Spencer got his finger slammed in the door as the wind blew the door shut.  He lost his thumbnail.  I had feared it would have been worse.

Muffins with Mom

Kate's teacher, Mrs. Foutz hosts a school event called Muffins for Moms.  The kids write cute books titled "If You Give a Mom a Muffin" and they sing a few songs that make every mom bawl her eyes out.  Events like those make me wonder what happened to my baby Kate.

Jessica's 4th Birthday

This cute Jessica turned 4!  She is a little princess who spends her days in either skirts or dance outfits.  She spends some part of every day dancing to her favorite music.

Love moments like this when you realize you picked just the right gift.

Dad met us at "The Craze" for some miniature golf & arcade games to celebrate Jessica's special day

Field Day

As a big 4th grader, Amber got her turn to be dunked in the dunking booth.

Ryken & Jessica were cuter than cute.  They held hands almost the entire field day.  I didn't worry about them because they were stuck together.

Some of My Favorite Piano Students

These girls have made piano lessons just a delight.  They're the type of girls that practice for fun.  They learned a couple of amazing duets for Spring Festival.  I recorded them, but unfortunately it got accidentally deleted.

Long Beach California in March

Rich got a job in Rexburg!  I had prayed & prayed that we'd be able to stay in Rexburg at least until my dad finished his chemo & radiation treatments.  Rich had approached every potential employer in Rexburg & we were looking elsewhere when Policy Tech in Rexburg contacted him.  We lined up a quick trip to Long Beach California before he started.  We left Spencer & Jessica home with our beloved babysitter, Sonya Fulcher & enjoyed a trip with just the older girls.

A vacation isn't complete without swimming at the hotel.

We enjoyed sea kayaking.  Amber decided to stand up for a better view & took an unexpected swim.

The Japanese Gardens

An impromptu day at Disney Land.

Disneyland was SO FUN with just the older girls.

It took an hour to get over the motion sickness from Mickey's Fun Wheel.  What a terrible ride!

Toy Story Mania

The beach is pretty cold in March!

It was so novel to gather sea shells
Swimsuits or jackets?  Hard decision.

A trip to Pacific Aquarium.  Amber lost her glasses here.  Luckily, they showed up in the Lost & Found the next day.

We spent a night on the Queen Mary.  Affordable, unique, & very cool.  We highly recommend it!

We went on a tour of the ship.  I was fascinated!  The girls wanted to take the Haunted Ghost tour, but mom wouldn't allow it.  Instead, our tour guide activated some of the special effects from the Ghost tour for us.
