Bath Time

Two year old say the darndest things.

I bathed Jessica & Spencer together this morning.  Jessica was delighted & said, "Benso, you a naky boy!  Benso you a naky boy!  I like naky boys."

Dogs at church

We're not talking seeing eye dogs.

One of the ladies in our ward brought a pretty funky, very furry handbag to church last week. We're talking really furry. Jessica noticed it during the opening prayer & as only a 2 year old could, blurted out, "Mom, I like that dog!"

Tee hee hee. I'm still laughing.

Growing up

I am so grateful I get to be home with my little kids. Jessica is growing up right before my eyes.

She's taken a special liking to the alphabet lately. We could call it an obsession. She picks the same alphabet books and reads them over and over. Here's what she's got down:

A is J for Amber and Ashy
B is J for Bryce
C if J for cookie
D is J for Dad
E is J for Emily (her babysitter) and Emma
F is J for family
G if J for Grandma
H is J for home
I is J for ice cream
J is J for Jessica and kitty (whose name is Jingles)
K is J for Kate
L is J for love you
M is J for mom
N is J for no no and Nick
O is J for octopus
P is J for papa (as in Grandpa)
Q is J for quiet
R is J for dad (i.e. Richard) and Ryken
S is J for Spencer and Sonya (our babysitter) The big S is for Sonya & the little s is for Spencer
T is J for Tonya
U is J for uh oh
V is J for vacuum
W is J for mom (but it's upside down, she tells me)
X is J for excited
Y is J for yahoo!
Z is J for sleeping

I giggle inside when she tells me that every letter is a J. J really is her most important letter.

Her greatest loves include chocolate milk, her ABC books, Dora, her blankie, and making her little brother "Benso" laugh. One of my greatest pleasures is hearing her plead, "Mommy, hold you?"

Jessica is also taking great pride in dressing herself. I wonder how many times a day I hear "no, me do it!" We've seen some great inside out, backwards, & miss-matched outfits lately. It brings her great satisfaction & I don't complain when she suddenly appears dressed for the day or dressed in her jammies for the night. She notices what her big sisters are doing and takes care of her little self.

Now if she'd just potty train herself and go to bed at a decent time.

Coming home

My kids love to ring the doorbell when they come home from school. It's a sure way of getting a special welcome home greeting from mom.

This is Amber's favorite new trick. She puts her hat & backpack on backwards. I have to admit, she fooled me the first time. It's funny how kids keep repeating their favorite tricks. I love watching Amber & Kate get so much pleasure out of this stunt.
