Millar Family Recipes

Recently, I've found myself scrolling through my sister's blog on a weekly basis, searching for recipes I know she posted there. I always like her recipes.

While scrolling through all of her blog posts I realized I could make a family recipe blog and access recipes easily by using labels. So I did. It's www.millarfamilyrecipes.blogspot.com. Because a lot of my recipes are already on my computer I've been posting recipes like mad. I hope the trend will spread to my family soon.

So, if you're looking for something to make for dinner tonight, you're welcome to go take a look.

Hmm, maybe I should go back and give proper credit to the recipes I got from all of my friends, before they find me claiming them as my own.

Piles of Smiles

Kate was in the bathroom with the door locked for a quite a while today. Later, I found a pile of Mr. Potato Head mouths on the counter in the bathrooms. When I asked her which one she liked best, she replied, "The lips. I was trying them on."

How did I already know she had tried them all on? I bet it was fun.

My favorite scrapbook page ever

Amber 2005

My kids are in bed & I've been scrapbooking.

I looked at this and laughed outloud.

Maybe it's not 100% blog appropriate, but it's too funny not to share.

Water wings, water slides, rubber rafts & roller coasters

Family Vacation 2009
Day 1:
Tubing down the river in Lava was the biggest kick.
Too bad we didn't get out the door eariler so we could have done it all day.
Too bad you all didn't join us.
It is a KICK!
We've got to have at least one family reunion in Lava!
We paid good money to "camp" in town.
We shared an almost grassy plot of ground with 4 other groups of people we didn't know.
Jessica, of course, loved the water faucet.

Day 2: The pool at Lava Hotsprings
Kate finally got up the nerve to try the water slide.
Then she couldn't get enough of it.

Amber also loved the water slide and the big snake that floats in the pool.
Rich & I loved the new slides speed slides at Lava.
We didn't sign the waver or go off the high platforms, because there was no one with us to impress.

This expression was quickly follow with glee.

P.S. Save the hot pools for cold weather. They are SO HOT!

Day 3: Lagoon with the Packer cousins.
They're so great! I love to have our kids spend time with their kids.
I like to have our grown-ups spend time with their grown-ups too.
Becca & Lindsey

Jessica cried because the ride stopped.
I was awe-struck to watch my baby go on amusement park rides.

Amber loves the medium kid rides. She's not all crazy like her mom.

Child torture.

Jessica HATES carousels.

Kate just might be crazy like her mom. She's pretty brave.
Side note: chlorine weakens hair elastics, which leads to pretty crazy hair.
After spending a day at Lagoon doing what our kids wanted to do, I'm dying to go back for a grown-up day at Lagoon. (Love those bounce back passes). I just can't get enough of those rides that drop you. If only I can find a way to pawn our kids off for a day.

Day 4: Time with the Millar cousins in Burley
We were the worst company. I was up sick all night & then slept all day.
(Thank goodness we were at their house, not camping like we'd planned).
The rock climbing got canceled due to rain and lack of kid enthusiasm.
Ever since rock-climbing while pregnant with Amber, I've dreampt of buying a kid harness & taking my wee ones rock climbing. We were about to buy a kid harness when our kids decided they didn't really want to go rock climbing. Amber quickly changed her mind, but we'd already changed plans by then.

Day 5: Home a day early
(because sick moms, worn-out dads & rain do that to vacations)
